2. Caesar Augustus (44 B. C.-A. D. 14) and the establishment of the principate.
3. The Roman Empire under the Julio-Claudians (14-68). The gentilis principate.
4. The Age of the Flavians (69-96). The promotion of nouitas.
5. The dynasty of the Antonines until Marcus Aurelius (96-161). The ciuilis principate.
6. The prolegomena and the crisis of the 3rd. century: from Marcus Aurelius to Diocletian (161-284).
7. The transformation of the Later Roman Empire (284-476).
